This is another food stuff that recently attracted my attention. With it’s gold, red and blue packaging and the word “Crispy Tilapia” on it, I was again curious about what is inside this or if it taste good or what. Since tilapia is very abundant here in the Philippines, it is often seen in wet market and fish section of supermarkets and not as chips or fish crackers. It’s not a very attractive fish but if you add value into it like the attractive packaging, well the perception of an ugly fish can be attractive.

But packaging is only the part of the story and we can see what a product really is by it’s taste. Since fresh tilapia does not have a fishy odor like salt water fishes, you can expect a fish cracker without a fishy taste and odor too. After opening the package and tasted it, you will not think that is a fish cracker because I can’t find any fishy taste. If you are looking for a fish cracker without the fishy taste well I bet this is one of the best choice but I didn’t say that I like it because I’m not fond of fish crackers anyway.

When I went to SaveMore Supermarket to buy some groceries, as usual it’s like strolling in a mall looking for things I have listed on a piece paper. A snack catch my attention named DORY. Well that fish is usually seen in the fish section in a form of fillet. Since it’s new I immediately bought it to blog it here. This is a fish cracker and the flavor was “original flavor”.  Also, another motivation why I want to experiment with the taste and blog about it is because it comes in small 28 gram pack and cheap.

So what will you expect with “original flavor” ?  fishy, salty and lots of mono sodium glutamate or MSG. But on the contrary, when I opened a pack of this fish cracker, well honestly at first I didn’t like the taste but after 4 pcs of munching it I came to realize how tasty it was compared to other fish crackers I’ve tasted. Very light, not too salty and the flavor is a little sweet and spicy with the light fish cracker taste.

It’s been a long time since I updated this blog because I can’t find enough time. I have other priorities because this niche of blogging about junk food is not as popular compared to other niches. For now I’ll just be doing it for passion.

This snack, Berrie Plunge, shouldn’t be called a junk food because it’s a healthy cereal snack. In fact it’s corn chips that are usually eaten at breakfast but this corn flakes is coated by sweet white chocolate and strawberry flavored which I think does not taste good if you pour it with milk if you plan to eat it at breakfast. So this can be categorized as snack and not as a breakfast cereal.

This rice crackers is a sure crowd pleaser and bet that you will definitely love. Why? First is the taste. Second is the price because I only taste this once when I bought a Japanese rice crackers but it cost much higher that this one. And the taste? Well it is delicious with a little spicy flavor.

Although the flavor is chili, you will hardly notice it. The flavor is spicy sweet with a little beef and shrimp flavor. If you love to eat rice crackers, then this will be a good try.

Again comparing it to Oishi, I haven’t seen a peanut butter filled snacks. This is the first time I saw this flavor. Maybe it’s too ordinary to put peanut butter in these crunchy snacks. Regarding the taste, well the peanut butter is alright, not too sweet nor too salty. Just right to the taste in my opinion. The crunchy cracker is colored pale brown maybe because of the cocoa ingredient or just a food coloring.

This snack is made of crunchy bread chips which is Similar to Oishi bread pan. Personally I like Oishi bread pan because the texture is porous which resemble a French bread with garlic butter flavor. Tosta on the other hand have a smoother texture with an orange powdery color on the outside. But in fairness the taste is good with the taste of garlic and butter.

I think this is a new product from Jack n Jill and similar to Oishi pillows. This is a crunchy snacks filled with creamy cheese. Comparing it to Oishi, (I hope I remember the taste of Oishi Pillows cheese filled crackers) I think the difference from Jack n Jill Poppins is the flavor which is more sharp, the texture is smoother and there is a little cheese powder coating.

I only saw a small 35 gram pack in the supermarket but maybe there is a bigger one being sold too. This is a good strategy, experimenting if the market will bite into this so they sell it in small packs or maybe because of our economy, most people can only afford small quantities.

There is no unique thing in this product. This is very similar to cheese balls but instead of having a cheesy and salty taste, this snack is sweet and taste like sweet corn. Obviously because that is what is said in the package label: Sweet Corn. Common sense isn’t it?

This is, I think is the sweet and spicy taste that suits my palate when it comes to junk food like this one. I have tasted a sweet chili fish cracker but it doesn’t come close to sweet and spicy, only spicy because of the chili pepper powder. The shape is round but smaller than the real squid ball since this is only a corn snack. All I can say is that this stuff taste good even though the packaging is not too attractive.

This spicy fish cracker is a tasty one but I must warn you that you don’t too much if your stomach can’t handle spicy food. No it’s not that spicy, just right to the pinoy taste. Unlike those spicy food coming from Thailand or India that I can’t tolerate the too much chili peppers they put on their food.
