This is, I think is the sweet and spicy taste that suits my palate when it comes to junk food like this one. I have tasted a sweet chili fish cracker but it doesn’t come close to sweet and spicy, only spicy because of the chili pepper powder. The shape is round but smaller than the real squid ball since this is only a corn snack. All I can say is that this stuff taste good even though the packaging is not too attractive.

This spicy fish cracker is a tasty one but I must warn you that you don’t too much if your stomach can’t handle spicy food. No it’s not that spicy, just right to the pinoy taste. Unlike those spicy food coming from Thailand or India that I can’t tolerate the too much chili peppers they put on their food.

You can compare this snack to clover chips because I think you are more familiar with it than other snacks, that is, if you are a junk food junkie. The only difference is its much bigger and thicker than clover chips and instead of the usual cheese flavor, this one has shrimp flavor instead. The first time I ate it, it has a lot of MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) but today, when I ate it again, there is some change in the taste and the MSG not visible.

This new flavor of Granny Goose snack is the reason why I bought this. Maybe I was tired of seeing the usual corn chips, tortillas, kornets snacks and those were in the market a long time. I guess this flavor is new because this is the first time I saw Granny Goose has this flavor. The packaging is attractive and looks delicious but as they say, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Anyway although I’m expecting of a real grilled pork taste and since these are only chips or crackers, it was close enough. It does really taste like the spices and flavoring used in grilling pork. Not spicy so kids will like it. The only thing I don’t like is I have to buy two or three packs to satisfy my craving because the quantity is only 35 grams. At least 50 to 60 grams is alright for me. For one thing, I was thinking what “Brew Bud” means. Upon reading the packing it says “It’s you fave drink’s best bud!” I think it means when you have a drink like a beer for example, locally it’s called “pulutan”, a food that paired with a drink (beer, wine or gin) usually pork, chicken or beef dish.

When you eat this stuff, it is very similar to cheese curls or better to compare it to cheese balls but this stuff is sweeter. It has a buttery taste and lots of cheese powder. The color of cheese powder is orange rather than yellow. The taste is quite O.K. specially if you are watching movies or at home being a couch potato. Also I read in the package “each serving of cheesy puffs contains about 1/3 of your recommended daily allowance for Vitamin A and B complex”. So that is why it took me longer to type all those ingredients.

This pillow crackers is the newest addition of Oishi Pillows from Liwayway Marketing. When we first glanced on it on the shelf (me and my wife), we thought this cracker is sweet based from the other filled crackers I’ve tasted so far. But when we opened it at home, and tasted it, only the cracker is a little bit sweet but the filling is salty, like cheese of course. So far when I became used to the taste it’s not really bad at all. It taste O.K. but should only be served as an appetizer.

Not very unusual because this kind of snack is common and other manufacturers have caramel corn curls too. But once you open the pack, you will see that the shape is not curled or any curl shaped corn puffs. The shape is irregular, maybe the manufacturer want to copy the popcorn shape but the taste is very identical to popcorn with a sweet caramel with buttery taste and crunchy too. I guess my hunch is right because on the package it says “No Hulls, No Hard Kernels, Melts in Your Mouth”. I noticed the color is not appetizing because it’s pale. It’s alright at least I won’t worry so much about the too much artificial coloring that some food manufacturers put on their products. It also says no MSG ( Monosodium Glutamate). That’s good. But come to think of it, who will put MSG on a sweet snack?
