The package says it has 50% dietary fiber, 24% Vitamin C, 17% protein, 10% Iron. The green peas are imported according to the label at the back. I don’t know why it is imported from the USA since we have farmers that sell green peas locally. Maybe the imported ones are better. Anyway the green peas are good to eat. I think it is fried and then salted with all the other stuffs included while making this product. It is also crispy and not hard to chew so it is a great addition to your snacks if you love fried or dried nuts.

Looking at the packaging I thought this is a nacho type of snack with barbecue flavor. When I opened it looks like kropek similar to shrimp or fish kropek or clover chips. A little bigger than clover chips with barbecue flavor.

Butong pakwan is a Filipino word for watermelon seeds. This snack has been a long time favorite of Filipinos. Can be bought on sari-sari stores on small packaging. The one I bought is 100 grams pack and the seeds are bigger than other watermelon seeds sold in groceries or supermarket. It’s also not very salty and the seeds easy to break by biting the edges until the seeds break in half. Just to remind you, eating this stuff needs good dentures.

This snack has been in the market since my teen years. Although this snack is tasty because of its buttery flavor, it smells like fart. Especially when you are eating it in an enclosed area like for example in an air conditioned car. But today, when I bought it in the market, the label and design of the package was changed and it doesn’t smell like fart anymore. I can say that this is a great and improved product that we can enjoy and specially the buttery taste that I always like.

According to the package this original cebu salvaro was produced since 1956. Good thing that this delicacy still survived until now. Maybe because of its unique taste. You can savor the coconut taste and aroma on these flat oval shaped and very thin biscuits. But if you don’t have good dentures I think you should soak it first on your coffee or juice because it’s kind of hard to chew. If you enjoy hard biscuits then this is a great snack.
